ATM: The nearest cash machine can be found in the foyer of the bank mentioned below and in the foyer the supermarket Eurospar (see the map above).

Bank: The closest bank to the venue is Erste Bank (see the map, address: Billrothstraße 31). Opening hours: Mon-Wed 8.00 am-3.00 pm, Thu 8.00 am-5.30 pm, Fri 8.00 am-3.00 pm.

Electricity: 
The electrical current in Vienna is 220 volts/50Hz and you will need the European round 2-pin plugs. For 110V appliances, you will need a transformer and an adapter to fit the Austrian sockets.

Pharmacy: The nearest pharmacy is just across the street from the symposium venue. The pharmacy Cottage Apotheke is open Mo-Fr, from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, and Sa, from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm.

Public transport: Vienna has an efficient public transport network. The underground lines run from around 5.00 am in the morning to around midnight Sun-Thu. On Fridays and Saturdays, they operate through the night. Information on ticket prices, and a route planner can be found at www.wienerlinien.at.

The Centre for Translations Studies can be reached by the underground line U6 (stop Nußdorfer Straße), the tram lines 37 and 38 (stop Glatzgasse), and the bus lines 35A, 37A and 40A (stop Währinger Park). For connections from the airport, and from the main railway stations, please see this page.

Shopping: Shops are generally open Mo-Fr from 9.00 am to 6.00 or 7.00 pm, Sa from 9.00 am to 5.00/6.00 pm and closed on Sundays. Some shops on the main shopping streets offer longer opening times on Thu until 8.00 or 9.00 pm. Shops at the main railway stations (e.g. Westbahnhof and Praterstern) and at the airport are also open on Sundays.
